Rules of Gun Safety

  1. Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.

  2. Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.

  3. Always keep the gun unloaded unless using it. Example, legally carrying my for protection is "using it" so yes my gun should be loaded. Setting my purse down which has my gun inside of it in my home is "not using" it so therefore I should unload my gun. This is especially important if you have children or ignorant adults nearby.

  4. Always assume the gun is loaded and apply the first 2 rules above.

  5. Know your target and what is beyond your target just in case you miss your intended target.

  6. Know your federal and state gun laws.

  7. If your children are old enough to talk and walk then they are probably old enough to learn the rules of safety.
